Performa

Digital & Print Design

Founded by art historian and curator RoseLee Goldberg, Performa is the leading organization dedicated to exploring the critical role of live performance in the history of twentieth-century art and to encourage new directions in performance for the twenty-first century.

Performa approached me to lead the graphic and production design for their live events. It was an honor to create designs incorporating original artists’ visual assets from Barbara Kruger, Christo, and Zanele Muholi. I designed a variety of layouts for Performa’s promotional material that were viewed by a wide audience in New York City and surrounding areas. Projects included a 70 foot video display in Times Square, MTA subway digital kiosks, printed invites, and 20 page news tabloid.

Performa 17
I designed a promotional campaign that centered around authentic brand assets of the globally acclaimed artist Barbara Kruger. The final design embodies a fusion of her iconic visual language with a distinctive New York City flair. A limited edition run of 2000 copies were printed and collected by NYC art enthusiasts.
Christo and
Jeanne-Claude
I was commisioned to design an invite to the prestigious Performa 18 Gala; an evening dedicated to celebrating the exceptional life work of visionary artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude. Notably, Christo himself expressed admiration for my design, granting approval for its production.

The 12x12 cm mailer, originally envisioned for the occasion, underwent a remarkable transformation by the Performa team. It was magnificently translated into a large-scale banner, becoming a captivating photo backdrop that adorned the event with a touch of Christo's artistic brilliance.
